Bird Estuaries

An extraordinary reserve for bird watching.

Pelican Lake Ranch’s 3,500-acre expanse of lakes, grass lands, sage, estuaries and cottonwoods, russian olives, elms, & other trees and shrubs attract a remarkable diversity of avian species. The species include bald eagles, owls, hawks, osprey, woodpecker, duck, cormorant, quail, egret, blue heron, and the community’s name-sake pelicans. Keep a camera ready!  They may even be seen during a brief visit to some pond areas.

Residents also report deer, red fox, antelope and other natural denizens wandering the community’s back country.
